When to install expansion joint caulking?

Hello,

We just had our pool finished around 5/14 and the builder is about to install the caulking between the concrete patio and the coping. Has enough time gone by? We were told earlier that this would have to be done later. Is it okay to install it now?

I have never heard a reason to wait to install the expansion joint other then the builders schedule.

No issue on timeframes. It's just cosmetics
