What size hose for Hayward vaclock w400 port?

Hello all,

I purchased a 1 1/2" hose and it is too large to enter my hayward vaclock w400 port. I did measure the hose and the OD is closer to 1 11/16". Is that the issue? Because hayward states it accepts 1 1/2" hoses.

Vac Lok is designed to accept the male end of 1.5" hoses that come with suction cleaners, not a standard vacuum hose.
