Hi! 2nd year owner . Still trying to figure it all out.
-24k vinyl pool opened Saturday. New de filter installed same day. Opened to light green water and lots of algae. Cleared up in about 24 hours after 2 vaccuum t waste. Numbers all over the place this week. This is what I got today after adding baking soda/shock Monday and Tuesday. Using recommended tfp test kit.

uswd The calculator but I was alittle confused as to what to do in what order ?

So you are performing the SLAM Process correct? Then based on your CYA of 30, your FC level needs to be maintained at "12" until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria. See FC/CYA Levels. Don't worry about any other testing right now except FC mostly to keep it at 12. Good luck!

Ok.

Tested this am and brushes

Added about 4 gallons of bleach as per app.
My issue is I only have about 4 more gallons of bleach left and won’t be able to get more until tonight.
Is my best method to keep testing throughout the day or just wait til I can get more bleach and test again tonight?

You need to add bleach/liquid chlorine to maintain SLAM FC levels. If you cannot, then just keep some FC in the water. It will slow algae growth.

Hi again. Looking for some reassurance that I’m on the right path. After not being able to get more reg bleach I went to pool store and got 2 5g buckets of 12.5 % & Friday at 4 I switched to that and off I went. My slam fc is 12 so I added the appropriate amount after every reading that dropped below that. Water is crystal clear. Filter 24/7. Vaccuum 1x per day and brush atleast 3x.

Keep at it. Cleaning the light niche may get you to the finish line.

Would be so much easier if you used the Poolmath app and stored your test data in that.

Take care.

Ok so - I did well yesterday and my OCLT from 10pm til 4am was 1ppm. (Sorry keep forgetting to log in the app) but my pool is in full sun and has been 75-80 degrees out the last 2 days.

So I thought I was done since I hit all 3 criteria but then so far today I have this

Do I just keep going or is the sun eating my fc?

Had to go find your CYA, sharing Poolmath is so much easier!

You have a 30 CYA. As summer approaches, getting that up to 40 ppm would be a good idea.

Only you can tell if your water is crystal clear.
