What do I have and what can I replace it with?

Yes, using the Fireman’s Switch.

Pentair UltraTemp Heat Pumps can also use RS-485 control with Pentair automation.
I will google this fireman’s switch. Seems like the pentair heat pumps are quite a bit more expensive but it’s probably one of those things where you get what you pay for

Some of these pool guys don't like to answer any questions so they won't be getting any of my money. Seems crazy to me but whatever.

Got another quote from a local company, thoughts on this one?

Confusing as to what you are getting. Top list contradicts things below it. It says "install all new Jandy equipment" when it has a Pentair pump and Gulfstream HP.

  • Jandy Aqualink is OK, Pentair Intellicenter is much better long term
  • Pentair Superflo VST pump is good
  • CS150 filter is too small. Get 300-400 sq ft filter.
  • Jandy Aquapure/Purechlor 1400 system is higher quality then TruClear system
  • Gulfsteram HP good
  • Why does it then say Jandy 1.5 Variable speed pump??
  • Top lists Truclear, bottom lists Purechlor system
Pentair IntelliCenter, Superflo VST pump, Intellichlor SWG will be better long term but cost more. Your pool, your choice.

I was wondering the exact same thing. It seems that none of these pool companies want to state specifically what they are quoting, and none of them have had model numbers. I will have them clarify exactly what they're using. Part of me wants to attempt DIY, but I'm not real familiar with 120/240v (I am very familiar with automotive 12v).
Another small local company sent out a salesman to look at what I have, and then he wanted me to commit to his prices over the phone without even sending me a quote to see what he's trying to sell me. So annoying.
