I couldn't figure out exactly where to ask this question so I'll ask here. When turning on my pool pump and filter, the skimmer filters perfectly for the first 15 minutes. After a while, the surface dirty water seems to not want to go into the skimmer. It looks like there are lines holding the dirty water back. I am not sure if you can see in the picture. Does any one know what these lines in the water are?

I can't really see what you see. It just looks like reflections.
What happens to the filter pressure when this happens? And how do you get it to go back to normal?
Any chance that's a piece of saran wrap floating around in there?

Yes it is. I think it was a matter of finding the correct balance of how much to suck from the bottom and the top. If I suck too much from the bottom or top this happens. So far, I haven't had an issue within a few days.

I always recommend to only open the main drain 10% and open the skimmer 100%. Keep water at about the middle of the skimmer mouth, or slightly less.
