1. On the first of each month, a contest "theme" will be announced (i.e. water clarity, family fun, decking, custom features, lighting, scenery, etc)
2. Members have 10 days to upload ONE image for consideration; Photo must be related to the thread titled theme for that month.
3. Per general TFP rules, nothing profane, political, or insulting.
4. The first 10 days is the submission period. Posts are limited to ONE image ONLY. No discussion posts yet. This will make viewing much easier for all.
5. Days 11 - 15 the thread will be locked and is for voting only. No more uploads. Viewers now have a final opportunity to vote (or modify their selection) for their favorite upload.
6. Members are encouraged to use an emotion icon ("Like" or "Love") to vote for their favorite upload; it will be tough, but select only one favorite.
7. On day 16, emotion Likes/Loves will be tallied for a winner. In the event of a tie, we will create a poll on the thread to make a final selection.
8. Once a winner is announced, the thread will be unlocked and comments/discussions are welcomed. Winner and nominees can tell us all about their pool/photo/event.
9. A member can only be selected as winner once per calendar year.
10. Winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from tstestkits.net! Oh, and maybe some bragging rights. :poke:

This should be fun. Showcase your backyard/pool holiday decor. Let’s see those pics! Have fun and good luck to those who apply!

Folks, let's congratulate @markdpratt (Post #4) for being voted as this month's TFP Pool of the Month. While all nominees had an outstanding display, this one seemed to be a crowd favorite. We invite all who posted to tell us more about their pool, and thank you all for participating. Let's do this again next month.

@markdpratt, be on the lookout for your $50 discount code from tfteskits.net.

Thanks everyone. I have to give credit where it’s due on the Christmas decorations around the pool - my wife. But as for the pool design, a lot of the credit goes to this TFP site and the great experts here.

Luckily I found this site back in 2020 when our pool was being designed. Both our original pool designer/builder and the PB we used in Lake Charles heavily pushed/recommended a chlorine pool using chlorine tablets. This site gave me the background, rationale, and time-tested experience from numerous pool owners/experts to push back and require my PB to install a SWCG pool.

This site also helped tremendously in influencing the pool design as to upsizing of the SWCG, sand filter, and chiller; the number of skimmers and returns to install; the use of a pool robot vs. the recommended floor cleaning pop-ups; placement and type of pool lights; adjustment of the tanning shelf and pool depths; and the type of pool maintenance equipment and Taylor test kits to have the PB provide plus the addition of the speed stir and sample sizer.

We moved around quite a bit with my job in the oil industry before my retirement and, while this is our first new pool build, this is our 7th pool.

In our prior pools, all chlorine tablet pools, I was frequently fighting algae and cloudy water and adding more chlorine tablets, algaecides, clarifiers, and other pool store “magic potions” - never with the understanding of the proper pool water chemistry and interactions.

I am happy to say, with our new pool, I have only bought liquid chlorine (for the cold water winter months), muriatic acid, and calcium chloride and have never once been in the pool stores. I do all my testing and pool maintenance based on the great TFP guidance.

By the upcoming 2023 hot, humid south Louisiana summer months, I hope to have the water chemistry in perfect shape based on the TFP guidance. These winter months, with the cold water temps, give me time to hone my water testing skills and adjust the water chemistry gradually to get it in good shape for the summer.

Thank you TFP!
