This one is going to be unique, pictures of the plan and the start of the dig are attached. We can’t wait to see the final product. Any advice or thoughts please don’t hesitate to chime in…

One quick comment please disregard the mess on my Carriage House porch, we literally just moved in this past week and the pool dig started at the same time the movers were here.

Here are some pool/equipment details
- 36’ on each side, 3’6”-7’ water depth (deep part is where the color blue gets darker)
- Sun Shelf with 2 bubblers and umbrella sleeves
- 8‘ diameter 360 degree spill over spa
- 2 Fire Bowls on columns at each side of the 1/4 circle
- 3 deck jets equal distance apart on the 1/4 circle
- 5 lights, 2 microbrites on tanning ledge facing away from house, 1 in spa, 2 intellibrite 5G lights
- 400k pentair propane heater (mostly to heat up spa quickly)
- Pentair Heat Pump/Chiller
- 2 Pentair VSP
- Pentair CCP 520 Cartridge Filter
- Pentair IC60 SWG
- Intellicenter Automation
- 500 gallon propane tank

I will follow this with some finishes that are finalized…..

Here are our finish selections
- Travertine decking Noce and Walnut
- Spa Tile 1 1/2” square Nature Royal
- Waterline tile 1x2” brick Nature Royal
- Stonescapes Tropic Blue (I‘m probably going to add either glass or extra shells on tanning shelf, more then likely I’ll have them broadcast instead of mixing it in)
- 31” Concrete Fire-bowls in Dark Walnut (Columns will be 32”x32”)

Great looking design and your equipment choices look great. Some of the choices remind me of our design

Are you doing anything along the back curve such as a raised wall? How do you plan to incorporate the deck jets?

Thank you!! This forum helps a ton.

The curved wall will be raised/exposed on the back. I’m assuming he is doing the jets through the coping, I’ll find out soon they are supposed to do the plumbing this week.

Any thoughts on the plumbing/rebar so far? They still have a lot to do, but they made some progress today.

Congrats on the progress.

I’m definitely no expert and have only limited knowledge so these comments are for my own education too. I’m sure other, more experienced members can chime in with input

For the raised, curved wall, I assume the loop is for the 3 deck jets to try to equalize the pressure across each one. My concern would be the middle jet could have lower pressure/flow than the outside. For my raised wall with scuppers, I have one input branching off to the three scuppers each with an individual run and ball valve to be able to control the flow. Given the design of your pool, I could envision you might want individual control of each jet and for the middle jet to “shoot” farther than the other 2 side jets. I’m not familiar with deck jets, likely they have their own built in adjustability to control the flow and the angle. If so, the current plumbing would be great.

For the pool returns, it seems they go down and run under the pool shell then exit the back right each with an individual home run. I guess that means more 90 degree bends than running along the sides or behind the shell. Just make sure they do a good pressure check before Gunite as there would be no good way to address any leaks afterwards. I had a pressure leak in my plumbing and it was a nightmare to find and address later. It seems there are a lot of different ways to plumb these. My plumbing is all around my pool, but some under decks so if there were any issues they could be difficult to address with holes cut in decks, etc… but not sure how yours would be addressed under the shell.

I’m curious how your spa will be integrated but will be more clear after they finish the steel cage. Since it will be a 360 degree spill over, they need a trough around the spa that connects to the pool. Will there be another spillway from the trough into the pool based on the ledge they are currently building? I assumed the trough would be flush with the tanning shelf. There would also need to be plumbing in the trough to get circulation and push debris out. Do you have any plans for lighting in there and have you thought about ingress and egress into the spa. That can be tough with these types of spa designs. Your drawing above doesn’t show the plans for the spa in detail. Do you have some detailed plans of the spa from your builder you could share?

They are just about wrapped up with the rebar and plumbing anything stand out as an issue? I’m going to walk through it with the PB, I have a few minors questions like placement of one light and the corner egress bench. Anything else from the experts?

Congrats, moving along quickly which is nice. I can visualize how the spa spillover/trough is integrated now. To my untrained eye most everything looks good, I’m a little curious about the spa jet height compared to the bench but maybe it’s the image/angle of the picture. It seems much lower than normal jets that would hit mid-back.
For the trough. Are there any returns or lights for that area?

You are correct the spa jets are lower then mid- back for sure. I’ll ask about that, but don’t see how it could be changed at this point. Yes it has returns and a light that points away from the house or towards the pool.

It’s really hot 🥵 and we have no rain in the forecast so I’m watering it down 3-4 times a day. I might try a sprinkler today, see if that works.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my build, things slowed down for 4-6 weeks. We are finally making progress again. Travertine came in and they are starting the tile. The fire 🔥 bowl columns are complete too!!!

A few from inside the pool I’m thinking swimming this year probably isn’t going to happen.

Hi there!
I'm in Marietta, would love to chat more about your pool if possible.
Heatpump/chiller, i assume the heat is running on propane? You didn't want to run directly to gas line? Are you using to heat the whole pool besides spa?
We were thinking about gas for the whole pool to extend the pool season.
Chiller will use electricity? I assume you had a pool before in GA, how often are you using per season?

This is my first pool in GA, my last pool was a liner pool in MA. The gas heater is propane only because I don’t have natural gas. This heater is really for the hot tub. I also have a heat pump/chiller that will be used for the pool and it runs off electric. I’m not sure how long the pool season will last I’m guessing about 6 months, the hot tub can be heated up any time regardless of pool temperatures. I’ll know more as they complete the pool.
