Want to buy..new pump and filter

We are looking to replace a 11 year old pump and filter system for a 15,000 in-ground pool. Currently have a 1 hp single speed centurion pump, an eclipse sand filter, and Hayward vacuum and Autopilot SWG. I have no idea what we should replace the pump and filter with...We live in Phoenix so the pump and pool gets lots of use. And is this a job a handy do it yourself person can do?

If the one you have has worked for you I'd go back with a comparable unit. I'd go with a 2-speed pump and at least a 300lb filter but a 1hp is plenty big for that pool.
