Very High Chlorine Level

The chlorine level is very high; instead of a yellowish color, it goes straight to a darker shade of orange. Slight algae growth that I brush away weekly. Recently purchased TF-100 and ran through the tests a few times. Not sure what to do next to have a trouble free pool. Thanks for your help. Latest results:
Cl = orange color
pH = 7.2 to 7.5
FC = 46.5
CC = 0
CH = 875
TA = 100
CYA = 120
Local water some restrictions
 
Welcome to the forum! Lots of great resources and nice folks to help you around here. I'll start with a few observations and questions. Good job on getting a quality test kit, the number one tool you need for a trouble free pool!

How are you chlorinating your pool, bleach, pucks, salt water chlorine generator?

With your chlorine over 10, the pH test will be invalid. Also, you CYA could be much higher, please look at number 9 here, Pool School - CYA , and retest using a 50/50 mixture of pool water and tap water and multiple your result by 2.

With your CH and CYA as high as they are, you will be looking at having to replace water to have a trouble free pool and only use bleach or SWG as your chlorination method, no more pucks or shock powder. Those 2 are what got your pool where it currently is.

Did you purposely extra-dose the pool to get such an elevated FC level? Did you get 46.5ppm buy using a 10ml sample size and 93 drops of R-871?

You really need to do the diluted CYA test as mentioned above so we can get a better understanding of your pool, and stop using those pucks in the inline feeder. If you have visible algae, there are thousands of algae spores that you don't see. There is no acceptable level of algae in a swimming pool.
 
Those pucks are what is driving up your CYA. Only use liquid chlorine, aka bleach. You can purchase this from the pool $tore in 10% or 12.5% strengths, or from your local Walmart as regular laundry bleach at 8.25%. Just be sure that it is plain old bleach, no additives like scents, or 'splashless' thickeners.

Thank you for your guidance. I'll retest tonight and update. Do you suggest reducing the chorine level with a removal additive, then reintroduce chlorine using liquid?

There is no need to try to actively lower the FC level, it will drop pretty quickly on its own.
Depending on how high the CYA actually is, your FC may not even be really high.

Regardless, you are at a point where you need to replace water to get the CYA down. I may not even bother with testing anything again until after you replace 50% of the water and then see where your CYA level is. You might have to do that a couple times and then follow the SLAM Process to clear up the algae.
