Traveling - pucks and LC compatibility

I will be leaving my pool unattended for 8 days. I have some minor algae, so I have raised up to slam level with LC. I have some trichlorchlorine pucks left from the previous owner, so I was going to throw one of those in a floating dispenser for the week. I plan on turning the filter off while gone. Is this ok? Is it ok to use the puck in a float for the week even though LC is in there? Reactions? Thanks!

One week is a long time to leave a pool unattended. I really don't like the idea of no circulation. 1 puck will do no harm BUT it won't due enough good, either.

I would try to find someone to stop by at least once or twice during that time.
