My family is currently staying at a hotel with an indoor pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. My kids keep complaining about how painful the water is on their eyes. Even my husband talked about how the water isn't as nice as ours. I'm feeling pretty pleased with how well our pool did during its first summer. Thanks so much to this community!!!

I almost threw up once at a resort with a Lazy River. I was just floating along behind my kids keeping an eye on them and I remember starting to get light-headed and dizzy/nauseous. Then I realized the water smelled horribly of chloramines. Once I got out of the river I laid down on a lounge chair in the shade for about an hour or so far away from the pool area. I eventually felt better. The CCs must have been so high (likely from all the drinking adults using the lazy River as their personal urinal) that I was getting sick from the vapors.

I will never swim in resort pools again…

Back in the 1970s & '80s, I frequented Club Med in its various locations. Good times, but I quickly learned to bring both bug killer and Lysol spray.

If only it was as easy to travel with LC & MA.

(At least Club Med had natural bodies of water to swim in.)
