My pool is heated by the sun. Any opinions on whether more or fewer hours of pump run time will heat it up faster? Does turning over the warm water on the top and bringing up colder water below speed up the heating?
The sun is adding X number of BTUs to the water each day.
I don't think you would notice a difference either way, assuming you are not using a solar cover.
If you are using a solar cover, the water at the top can get very warm and thus you might lose more heat to the environment, so I think you would be better off circulating the water to distribute that heat.
Thanks for the input. I thought turning the warm water under might keep more heat in the pool but I didn't think about it hard enough to determine if I was full of hot air!
