Thanks to this website I’ve been able to get my water levels near perfect. TA started at 120 with 7.8 ph and now I got alkalinity levels to 60 with ph of 7.2. Plugged in the results on pool math premium and it says to keep adding dry acid. Is 50 the ideal TA level to get to, then should I just aerate to bring ph back up or should I just leave TA at 60 and just aerate to raise ph a bit?

Anywhere between 50 and 90 is ideal. You're at 60. You're good.

I know it's a hard concept to grasp when you're used to going to the pool store and buying something every week, but sometimes, your pool doesn't need anything but its daily chlorine. And if you have a SWG, not even that! No more Pool Store Wheel of Spend-a-Fortune.

The reason it says to add acid is because your current pH is 7.2 and your target pH is 7.0 - the recommended addition has nothing to do with lowering your TA and everything to do with lowering your pH to your target.

But a pH target of 7.0 is outside of the recommended pH of 7.2-8.0

TA of 60 is fine. Let your pH come up on its own.
