Switching from Mineral Springs products to a less expensive salt alternative

I did a little research since I am unfamiliar with Mineral Springs.

The Renewal is
Chemical Name CAS No. Weight-%
sodium hydrogensulphate7681-38-1 15-35*
boric acid 10043-35-3 2-13*
aluminium sulfate 10043-01-3 1-7*
*The exact percentage (concentration) of composition has been withheld as a trade secret.

The Beginnings leaves out the Aluminum Sulfate

So it seems to me that this is just a bunch of overpriced dry chemicals. There's nothing special.

You can do everything using these: Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals

Also, take a few to read ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

I used mineral springs my first year only cause the previous owner was using it. I swear just forget all you had with them. The renewal is just over priced dry acid with some CYA.

Use pool salt from where ever and anything pool math says.

Do you have any left over stuff from them?

Get your TF100 kit and the Taylor KT1766 salt test kit. Post results and the good people here will gladly guide you.

Take the $$ you save and do some pool improvements or go on a weekend shopping spree
