Super high CC and can't get pool back to normal after Jack's Magic Copper and Scale

SWG pool. I did a Jack's Magic Copper and Scale Tx. It took 4 weeks, and results were only marginal. Here are my numbers now:

FC - .5
CC - 22
CYA - 30
Salt - 4000
Ph - 7.2
TA - 6

The pool place says my phosphates are at 2500ppm. I dunno. They said a lot of other stuff that wasn't true. Don't know if phosphates matter anyway.

Clearly the 22 CC is an issue. I started SLAMming my pool and then went out of town, so it went back to high CC. When I was gone though, there was white stuff coming out of the filter when it was cleaned that looks like white paint. I don't know if that is calcium because of the scale tx or if it's something else. I put about 8 gallon jugs of 8.25% bleach in the pool before I left.

I would just like to get my pool swimmable (CC down please!) in the next few days.

Thank you for your help!

Jack's Magic #2 is most likely Sulfamic acid. The msds matches the msds properties for Sulfamic acid including physical properties, decomposition products, product use (descaling) etc.

Sulfamic acid is also used as a chlorine stabilizer in pools and other applications such as cooling towers. Chlorine reacts with Sulfamic Acid to form N-Chloro-Sulfamic Acid, which is what most likely creates the CC.

Rebalancing after Jack's Magic #2

Thank you so much for responding! I would have replied sooner, but I didn't realize I had gotten a response. I need to go change my settings to email me when someone responds to my thread :D

I've continued to add bleach all day. I used the calculator and added what I thought I should have to get myself up to 24 FC. I only ended up at 7.5. Then I used the calculator again, this time only ended up at 8. 3rd time, I ended up at 9.5. My CC continues to climb in a crazy fashion. Right now, if you can believe it, it's at 39.5. I'm very concerned that I should be doing something differently. I'll read the info about rebalancing after Jack's Magic #2.

Thank you so much!

I don't know much about chlorine combined with sulfamic acid. It will eventually break down. I'm not sure if you have to be aggressive with it or not. I think that it was tried as a chlorine stabilizer at one point. You might be ok just maintaining normal levels of chlorine until it's gone as long as the water stays clean, clear, algae free and non-irritating.

As shown in the other post, Slamming will eventually get rid of it.
