Hello all! Newbie here. Stonescapes mini pebble in white, salt and pepper, or aqua cool are standard from our builder. We actually prefer the medium blues. We’re trying to decide if another color is worth the up charge or if we’ll be happy with one of the standard colors. Does anyone have photos of the above listed colors in full sun? Thanks in advance!

We are in the exact same boat as you. We want a medium blue mini pebble but its a level 2 and $700 upcharge. I have only been able to use the NPT website but there isn't a whole bunch to go off of.

I also want a medium blue and PB recommending Tropics Blue mini with some added beads. Is there a better feel to mini pebble vs large pebble? When I feel the samples in store, the large feels less course to me. My PB is charging same price for either....my choice but I'm not sure which is less rough on feet.

hi, they are installing Stonescapes aqua cool mini pebble in my pool as we speak so will let you know. I also wanted blue, blue water but decided on the aqua cool. I liked the blue of tahoe blue. I was told that darker colors are not as forgiving?? (guess he meant splotches, etc.) Plus the sample felt smoother and had the blue accents we wanted to match the tile and the turtle mosaics we purchased.

Mini pebble is definitely less rough than regular. I originally wanted plaster because i always hated pebble feel, and the darker colors make the pool look dirty in my opinion. Who wants to walk on rocks in their pool? Some PB won't even do plain plaster anymore. My PB offered Quartscape plaster. What changed my mind was my neighbors pool. She just got hers redone with Stonescapes aqua cool mini pebble and I stepped on it in the water. It wasn't bad at all. So that, coupled with the fact pebble finishes add value to your house if you resale, changed my mind. ( i read recently plaster refinish doesn't) In Phoenix, it was only $540 difference for mini. Today is the acid wash and start filling.

Aggie, I thought salt/pepper looked too yellowish. The white was another option I liked, but went with Aqua cool because it had more blue specks in it. Must be a Texas thing that they charge extra for other colors. lol. We had many shades of blue, green, gray, dark to choose from.

Picking my color was the hardest part of my whole build. You will probably be happy with any of the finished you mentioned. Pick based on water color and not sample or the sample name. Weird but people do. I did owner builder so had much flexibility. The first two bids where almost exact and had an up charge for some color choice. The third bid and the one I went with came highly recommended by many builders and subs. His bid was significantly less and it did not matter what color I chose. He only charged a $100 more per bag of glass if i chose to add, which I did and love. Anyhow you can modify the mix as well (Not to add more to your your plate). I started with French Grey. Added more black pigment. Substituted one bag of grey pebble for black, and ended up adding a blue and opaque glass mix. It came out looking like granite and the best way to described the water color in full sun is like a blue iceberg. Especially from under water.

What are they charging you for an upgrade to the next level? Ours offered "White" and "French Grey" as standard, with a $1900 upcharge to go to Aqua Blue....

Another $1500 for other colors
That's odd to me. Our PB had no upcharge for any color. We just had to stick with StoneScapes and select micro, mini, or regular pebble (touch of glass, etc would be an upcharge). We added abalone for a small fee (I think about $300? I'll need to check the invoice).

If I remember there were different levels but the price was also minimal for us also. I can’t remember the name was it was the middle one of the 3 he showed us
