Sta-Rite seal plate leak

Took my pump to a local pool store to have the motor replaced. It looks like they accidentally put the longer bolts up top first and punched through the seal plate. I wasn't sure if it would be issue but it seems to be leaking from that area. I'm assuming this is an issue. Thoughts?

Welcome to TFP! Wrong bolts in wrong location. Ugh. :brickwall: Yes, a leak at the seal plate is an issue. I would ask them to replace that seal plate/gasket seal. Hopefully they did a better job with the shaft seals so those aren't leaking as well. Good luck with the repairs. Thanks for using the forum. Stick around and have a nice weekend. :swim:

Based on the oxidation of the plate, I would assume that it's super old.

It's probably time to replace the pump.
