“Spa”Jets blow water or air not both

Hi All,

Could use some advice on our new pool construction.

We have 3 "Spa" returns on a 2" pipe with its own valve plumbed all the way back to the pump for our bench seats. It also has a 2" air pipe plumbed all the way back to the pool equipment. Air and water pipes both about 80' from the pool. Non-spa pool returns on their own pipe a valve. Pipes are fully covered with cement and travertine at this point. There is one section I could possibly get to about 40 feet between the pool equipment.

Scenario 1. - Pool valve open, spa valve closed, and a shop vac blowing on the air line, bubbles (way too much) come out of the spa jets and no water.

Scenario 2- With the spa valve open and pool valve closed, water comes out the air pipe (a lot) and the jets also push some water back to the pool. Scenario 2a. - shop vac blowing on the air pipe has no impact, water squirts out anyway.

Thoughts?

You have pics of the way the water and air lines were plumbed to the spa jets before gunite was shot?

What nozzles do you have in the spa jets?

You have a Pool Builder or this an OB?

Thanks for the quick reply! This is a PB, but has not been helpful with questions on this…

I don’t have a final photo…

I have a few just prior and a drawing of how I think it was plumbed.

Your drawing is not close to the way it should be. There should be a separate water and air loop around the spa with connections at a manifold at each jet.

None of your pics show me the plumbing connections to the spa jets. Your PB messed something up in the jet plumbing.
