Solar Cover and Heating questions

Let me start off by saying, we are wimps when it comes to cold water. So to add a couple of degrees we purchased a solar cover and since putting it in we raised the water temp about 3 degrees but only on the top later. Outside temps in have been in the 80s and the water temp is 70, top layer 72-73.

Question I have is should I run the pump during the day when the sun is out to circulate the water or will that just cool it even more?

+1 to no cold water! :thumleft:

Yes, definitely run the pump during daylight hours to move the warmer water around. Also, it helps a bit because the filter and plumbing are exposed to warmer air temp and maybe sunshine. Run the pump at night to help cool the pool a bit. Same idea the filter and exposed plumbing is cooler at night.
