Self Closing - Year 2 Help

2nd year closing myself. Last year went ok and opened fine. I'm not convinced I got the return or main lines blown out very well last year. I use a portable air tank to blow out.

Working on it this year, skimmer line I feel good about. Return line I'm working on though I still hear water in the line. One issue I'm running into on the main is I don't believe the shut off valves are shutting completely so I'm struggling blowing out the main and creating the air suction.

2 questions:

1) Should I/How do I add antifreeze to return and main lines?

2) How in the world would I replace the valves given my setup?? Whoever did this left zero room. Seems I'm going to have to rebuild from scratch starting at half of the union.

Antifreeze is an insurance policy. May help, can't hurt. Some people use it and some do not.

It looks like you need to rebuild the valves from the union to replace them.
