Any suggestions to getting scaling on a vinyl liner gone? Been brushing it and notice white flakes. Afraid it is a good source for algea to attach. Never had an issue till this year. Thanks

Above ground 18' x 33' and 52" deep. 20,000 gallons (approx). Sand filter with 2HP pump. New sand this year. Using 4 way test strips along. Had tested at pool store last week and it said balanced. Along with scaling water is not crystal clear. Tried flock with vacuuming to waste and still cloudy.

Test strips are not sufficient and pool store testing will wind up spinning you around in circles while picking your wallet clean. Don't take my word for it, search this forum for those two topics and learn from so many others before you.

Get a kit, test your water, post your results and take control of your pool with the help of the many great folks who volunteer their time to pay it forward. Where would be best place to look for suggested testing kits? Amazon? Currently Clorinating granuals or liquid clorine. Have 3" tablets in skimmer and algecide. Got my homework to do to help reduce $$!!

Do a search for TF-100 I believe you can order on their site. The Taylor K-2006c can be sourced from several places on line. Pool store in my experience will not stock these kits.
