I see that my above-ground Bestway pool 12 x 22 x48 has 1500 gallon sand filter. Will this be enough to clear the pool or should I buy a larger size?

Going larger with your filter is a good move, means you will backwash less.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I have another question. Do you think a 2800 gallon intex filter would work and is this brand compatible with the Bestway? Thanks so much for your help.

Yep, it would be fine, and you can use with any pool. You just might need adapters - what is the fitting size on a Bestway, 1.5”?

I have a 2100 gph Intex sand filter and I think it works great. I have about 7K gallons and the water was perfect last year.

If it comes with a sand filter that's already a great start compared to the tiny cartridge ones. I'd use the included one and then think about upgrading later if you find it deficient in some way. It will be plenty adequate to keep the water clear.
