@kellyfair I know you probably want to kill me with all these questions I keep asking, but I was wondering what you had to do as far as your homeowners insurance goes? I only ask because we both have/had Intex frame pools and now upgraded to more permanent above-ground pools, lol. My insurance company has no idea about the Intex since I was told that it doesn’t count since it’s considered a “temporary” pool (I never verified this info lol). Did you tell them when you put your Intex up or how did that all work out?

The above ground pool is considered a 'temporary pool' here where I live and it doesn't impact insurance.

If you quote me I’ll have to silence you, but we didn’t say anything about the Intex. It was considered seasonal!

Every insurer is different of course, but I was told by friends that both the trampoline and the pool would add premium to my premium. USAA didn’t care about either but suggested an umbrella policy to add $1M to the standard homeowners policy. It was dirt cheap about $400 for the year and worth every penny for peace of mind. If somebody got hurt they would be a member of the our circle. I have a big circle, but still. They are all loved and I would want them covered if somebody got hurt.

At least its harmless. That doesn't make it any less slimy or gross, but at least it won't hurt you. What did you come up with for holes / better flow ?

Man, these guys were fast. Went out for another progress pic and they were all “oh, good, we were just getting ready to tell you we’re done!”

I told them to leave plumbing to me - it will take about a year for pool to fill and I’m deciding if I want to hard plumb, but I know what I’m doing at any rate, although they did tell me to give them a call if I want them to do it.

So, my next adventure will be bonding, which I’m also going to do myself, hopefully this weekend. I ordered waterbug to use in skimmer, and the only metal on this pool is the metal connector strip that is under the upright next to skimmer, and then the pump. So the hardest part will be the loop around the pool, correct?

Then I have to decide on backfill. I had them leave all the dirt, a good portion of which I will use to fill my dog’s many craters in. (when they dig a hole, WHERE does the dirt go???) I had large white beach pebbles around the Intex, but I think I want smaller river pebbles around this one, since the colors of the pebbles will look nice against the gray walls.

And I have to call the electrician my friends swear by to see what he says about power.

Deck will wait until next year, so I’ll be using my (clean) Confer step system until then.

I hadn’t checked in a while to see if the one I wanted was back in stock, and it is! I just ordered. Haven’t decided on pump/filter yet.

Pool weather comes soon around here, and I want to get this thing installed before it gets too hot!
Do you know if the wall has any steel in it? It says 'resin composite' and I can't find any pools to compare it with. There was another site that said the steel was coated with resin to discourage corrosion but who knows who to believe. I live in Corpus Christi and I need something that will last at least 5-7 years for being partially-buried.
