Salt test or Aquarite indicator?

My Hayward Aquarite is indicating a salt concentration of 3400. I picked up a Taylor salt test kit and got a titration of 3000 ppm. I am inclined to believe the Aquarite based on the volume of the pool and the amount of salt I put in. How reliable is the test?

Your numbers are within the error ranges of both test sources.

If the SWCG is generating , all is good.

D,

Assuming you have the Taylor K-1766, it will be the most accurate. If you do not have a Speed-Stir, I suggest you get one.. Swirling by hand makes the test much less accurate. With a Speed-Stir, you will get an instant change from milky to salmon..

Thanks,

Jim R.

The main thing to do is watch for the Aquarite reading to begin to drop relative to the drop test.

As long as the two remain close, you're good.

If the cell begins to fail, you will see the aquarite reading drop relative to the drop test.
