I have a 20,000 IG pool with cartridge filter . I noticed recently 1 of my return jets has a very weak flow and other 2 lines have bubbles coming out indicating a suction side leak .
I have exhausted all above ground troubleshooting. Replaced O rings , pump basket and lid , checked for debris in skimmer and impeller blockage . Blown lines with water bladder hose . Checked for above ground pipe leaks . Water level is sufficient.
If I cover my hand over a working jet , the weak jet starts to flow which leads me to believe my pump may be old and worn out ? It’s a pre 98 whisperflo ... I don’t notice anything different about it, like it’s struggling, but is it time to replace it? Also my cartridges (4) are very old but I don’t think this is the issue .
The final option is I may have a below ground leak . I made a mark in the skimmer , waited 2 days and it went down about 1/4” ...weather at time was still cold at night...suspicious.
What do you guys think ? Could my pump just be old or underground leak ?
