Replacing hydrostatic pressure valve

This summer I will be putting another coat of paint on my cement pool. I have been told it is advisable to remove the hydrostatic valve to prevent any issues. Unfortunately I have no idea what tool I need to buy to remove the valve. Can anybody make any recommendations ?

Depends on which valve was used. Usually they use a pipe with slots cut into it to grab onto the top of valve. Google hydrostatic valve and you can see different valves and tools to remove
