We originally had a Pentair F26/011773 1 1/2 HP motor put in in 2009 wen the pool was built. After some time we had a pool service co replace it and they installed a century 1 1/2 HP motor. It was then replaced with the same Century motor in January 2021. It started shutting down and overheating, pool service said it was not covered under warranty, that rain had gotten into it and shorted things out. That made no sense to me, but we ordered the same pump and had our electrician install it for us. It also continued to overheat and shut down. He replaced the breaker and upgraded the wires, just to ensure it was nothing electrical— no help. We have verified that the skimmer lines and main drain lines have suction. We replaced the 4 cartridge filters and the closure for the filter itself. Still overheating. The pump basket is full and appears to be working fine. The filter pressure is 25 psi when running. The electrician said the motor was pulling too many amps. Can anyone help? There are very few qualified service technicians in my area and we are at our wits end! Thanks so much!
