Hi Everyone,

I am having issue with my spa water draining into my pool when the pump is off. After further research, it seems like my only solution is to install a check valve. However, with the way my plumbing is currently constructed, I will need a check valve that can be installed vertically with "downward" flow. But I have not found any check valve that can do that. Most valves I found stating that they have to be installed horizontally or vertically with upward pressure. Has any one of you ever encounter any situation like this? Would you please let me know if you found a valve that worked with downward pressure? Thanks

Below is a picture of the return pipes for both my spa (left) and pool (right):

Before you do that, you might want to check to make sure the o-rings are all good in your valves... seems to me when we had that problem once, it was an o-ring that had gone bad.

The Pentair and Jandy style check valves are often incorrectly mounted in that orientation but work just fine. That looks to be about your only option without getting too crazy with replumbing.
