Propane Spa Heater Shutdown

Hello!
First time pool owner. Just had pool school.

We used our spa for the first time tonight. And have a question.

Once you shutdown the heater and redirect water flows to the pool. Is it correct to run a 2hr cycle on low to fill the spa and flush hot water out of the heater/system?

I don't know exactly how your pool/spa system is setup. Please create your signature with details of your pool so we can provide specific help and not make assumptions.

In most systems the heater is shared by the pool and spa. When you turn the heater off and change to pool mode water will continue to flow through the heater when in POOL mode and cool it down.. If you have automation the automation should not shut off the filter pump until the heater has time to shut off and cool down.

I don't understand this 2 hour cycle to fill the spa. When you chnage from SPA mode to POOL mode the spa should have water in it.
