Problem with opening, don't want to repeat

This past spring I had an issue I have never had in 12 years. The whole pool was covered with a white flaky stuff walls and bottom, much thicker on the bottom when I pulled the winter cover off. Almost like if you covered the whole bottom with white wheaties cereal. What caused that? There were a few days of high heat after it was closed.

It may be tough to determine what caused something like you described several months ago. But one thing that may help is to update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info (include your test kit) and also post a full set of test results. With that info we might have more insight as to your water history.
