Hi first season with a pool. Before I found tfp I had water tested at the pool store and they said my ta should be 120 to 190 I raised it with baking soda to 130. Now when I look at my pool math it shows me 70 to 90 should I be worried about my levels. Ph is right around 7.3.

Well you learned about listening to pool stores.

Whenever your pH gets to 7.8-8 lower it to 7.3 using muriatic acid. In time your TA will come down.

Of all the chemicals for you to have your learning experience this is the best and causes the least problems.

What type of pool do you have?

What test kit are you using?

What are all of the chemistry readings?

What was the TA before you raised it?

Do you have a good test kit now?

What type of chlorine are you using? Make sure you add some chlorine, it is low.

Post the results of your tests from your test kit, and what type of kit are you getting?
