We have the same stain, at least noticed in Ski's photo. We used about 10# of ascorbic acid with the directions of TFP.
Stain lighted, but then a pink color was noticed on the stain in the shallow end. Pinch a Penny gave us something to take the pink off and it worked, but still have the stain.
We have used the BBC program for a few years, easy to do, cheaper than a pool store, but still we are dealing with this stain.
As I understand in the thread is that you should drain the pool and treat the stains with borax etc., and refill.
