Pool Cleaner scraping plaster off

I have a section in my pool that the cleaner will get stuck in. It will stay there until the back flow kicks in and pulls it out.
Unfortunately while it is stuck, the wheels will turn, and I am assuming it is scraping plaster off, and I will find some in the bag.

Any ideas on how to prevent this? Maybe some type of "wall" to prevent the cleaner from going that far into the section of the pool?
Some how rubberize the wheels?

This is an old pic (from the first acid bath they did when pool was installed). The section is on the far left, between the sun bathing platform and wall.

What pool cleaner are you talking about?

The backup valve working?

The 280 has plastic wheels that should not be damaging to plaster unless you have a plaster problem.

Do you see any gouges in the plaster? What makes you tie what you see in the bag to the wheels damaging the plaster In that area?
