Someone threw some cal hypo into the pool (gunite/white plaster/chlorine 29k gallons) and it ate away some plaster

bad is this? I wasn’t planning on replastetring until next year. Does this change my timeline

I am generally on top of my pool chemistries.

Also, during the initial build you could see areas that were darker, ie the gunite was showing through. I felt this was a problem but my builder assured me it was normal. For the record, white plaster should be white and opaque, and gunite should not be seen through a thin layer, right?

How old is your plaster?

White plaster can turn gray that you may think is the gunite.

@onBalance thoughts?

Plaster is 6 years old

And absolutely sure as I saw them toss it in and didn't think it wouldn't dissolve, though it was on the steps

I did check all my chem levels. pH was a bit high, 7.9, TA was low at 40, everything else was within normal range. I've been having a hard time keeping TA where I need it this season
