Hi my name is Phil new to this forum. I absolutely love the idea of making pool care easier. I had a in-ground pool in Las Vegas and it was pretty much trouble free. However when I moved to Knoxville we decided on an above ground pool and frankly it's been a nightmare I look forward to learning as much as I can from the group and hopefully I can help others as well.

Your pool shouldn't be a nightmare, I suggest that you read ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and there's lots of other good info in Pool School.
You do need a proper test kit, see Test Kits Compared.
