Pentair Superflo 340044 2hp 2 speed buzzing

I have a Pentair Superflo pump about a year and a half old. It was doing the buzzing/humming thing. It would hum for only a second or two and go quiet, then try again. Sometimes it fires up right away, sometimes after a few tries it would fire up. I switched the capacitor in the outside case of the pump but it is still doing the same thing. Impeller rotates smoothly. I tried to spin it so it would 'catch' and get up and running but it only tries/hums for a second then goes quiet. Does anyone know if this pump also has a start capacitor? What else might I be trying?

I tried to take a look inside the end cap but I didn't have very much room to work with and couldn't get a good look at all. And I didn't want to start chasing a solution without reaching out first.
I've referred to this forum for a lot of troubleshooting and found it very helpful. Thank you in advance

Your signature says you have a Whisperflo. But either way, I believe it is a PSC motor so the capacitor in the hump is both the run and start capacitor. Also, the motor should have a centrifugal switch in the back. If corroded it can make starting difficult. You can usually clean off the corrosion with a little sand paper.

Hey... thank you for the response. Yeah, guess I need to update my profile. The superflo replaced the whisperflo about a year and a half ago.

I opened up the end cap and took a look at everything. I wasn't able to find too much info on the net on my particular pump's centrifugal workings. I checked all connections and everything looked pretty good. Not my area of expertise so please forgive any noob oversights. I'm posting some pics so if anyone can spot anything I missed or if something looks amiss, please let me know.

I believe the black switch in the picture, is the centrifugal switch. Unfortunately it is a closed switch so you can't see the contacts but you could perform a continuity test on the switch if you have a multi-meter. Also, check that the governor (thing with the springs) moves freely. If everything looks ok, you might want to try a motor repair shop or just replace the motor.
