On our commercial 1100 gallon spa, i use the Pentiar rainbow 300 feeder with 1" trichlore tablets. If i want to put more than 5 or 6 tablets at a time, I have to adjust the dial between 0-1 out of a 1-10 available. With that limited of a range, its very hard to get the right adjustment dialed in. It jumps back and forth between not enough and too high. The whole point of the auto feeder is to be able to load tablets in it and leave it alone for a few days.

So does anyone have any input on this? Im using the smallest dial that Pentair makes and have had this issue with the same model of dial before so this dial is not defective. THanks for the input.

You need a hose replacement kit. Which means every plastic fitting plus the dial and strap. Those nipples going into your pool pipes clog too.

The dial might be ok but there is build up in the black fittings somewhere. Normally the dial is clogged, pull it off and spin it in your hand while looking inside it. Even the best eyes cant tell if the dial is clogged or not while doing this so just change it out. Plumb your lines into the chlorinator so the water enters the bottom, and exits the top where the dial should be if you can.

Hey ferret, I appreciate the response. Actually my problem is too much flow. I replace all the tubing, check valves, flow meter etc. on scheduled intervals. This is an issue from the start. So hopefully i can be a little more clear...

If I load my feeder with more than a couple tablets, I can only barely turn the dial up. It so touchy that i have to try to adjust it between about 0.5 to 1 on a dial that goes to 10. So basically its nearly off, or blasting too much flow at around 1. This pretty much makes the dial useless. Id like to find a way to have more precise control so i can add 10 or so 1" tabs 1's a week. It makes it especially hard on the weekends when Im not here and people who dont have as much experience are trying to maintain the levels. This is a hotel setup so depending on usage, things can change rapidly.

Thanks for your time and input.

So you have a 300 29 chlorinator? Those dails last about 6 months on comercial properties Unless the dial is up top, and even then they can get to loose or to tight. I have a handfull on my truck because I have to replace them very often.
also on the fly you can fold the line and zip tie it to slow the flow down.

No, sorry, its the 300 with the 1/4 inch line, dial, flow meter etc. Its specs say that its able to service 12k gallons @ 10ppm which is much more than we would need. But I would assume that is at maximum volume. If it can hold 12k @10ppm with the dial on max then I would assume that it should be able to dial down enough to maintain a 1 thousand gal @4-5ppms using only 8-10, 1" tabs. But maybe not. Again, even when brand new, the dial just isnt sensitive enough.
