Is that just a friction fit in the pool wall fitting or is it screwed in? Looks like you could just get a new fitting that matches the threads of your wall outlet. What size is it? 3/4"?

I took another look at the fittings. That male part of the quick connect is screwed into the wall fitting. I didn't put a wrench on it though. The wall fitting appears to be 1". I guess I need to remove the quick connect, and find a 1" threaded connector that will attach to the 280's hose, and then install an inline filter a little further down the line.

That D23 fitting looks to be correct. The D31 housing is close, and would probably work, but the one I have does not have the bend at the hose end. Not sure if that matters.

Thanks for helping me out with this. My pool is a mess now.

The bent one is probably a redesign. It stands to reason that the bend would be better since the vacuum is always downward. And it attaches to a swivel which allows it to more closely follow the direction of the vacuum.
