Oh No! Broken screw hole...now what?

So first, thanks to everyone on here for tips to replace my spa light. Could not have done it without your advice.

New problem...as I was wrapping up new spa light, just screwing him down, the screw hole on the light housing that the spa light screws into broke in half. I sat there in shock for 10 min trying to take in the depth of that little piece of metal’s relationship to my success.

Any ideas on what to do next? I have nothing short of hiring a welder to weld a screw nut to the housing.

It may help to post a picture as it is hard to visualize what you say is broken. There are various products by J-B Weld (from Ace, Home Depot, etc) that can mend most anything depending on how it broke and what material. Is this aluminum or steel?

Maybe a small aluminum rivet washer on front and backside?

Are you talking about the tab in the housing in your spa's wall?
If so.... Google - pool light wedge installation

Sorry for the late response, but I went with the wedge after reading some other responses on TFP. Little hard to work with, but worked none the less. Thanks guys
