Noob questions for Costco Bestway Pool

We just purchased the Costco Bestway Power Steel 22' x 12' x 48" Above Ground Pool Set. It will arrive this week. We have never owned a pool and I would truly appreciate if you can help me with some questions I have.
1- The location we will put the pool is concrete. But there are gaps between the concrete slabs. Do I need to fill those gaps before I place the pool? Any recommendation how?
2- I believe the set comes with a ground cover. Is the pvc ground cover enough on top of concrete or do I need other padding?
3- I read that the plastic melts into the metal pipes, and a lubricator is advised before sliding the pipes in, what type of lubricator I can use?
4- I read the cover doesn't fit on top, did anybody experienced that? What type of cover you would recommend?
5- I will take a water sample to a pool shop after I fill it, is there anything I should know before I go?

6- What type of maintenance would you recommend?

Welcome to TFP!
I wouldn’t bother with either pool store tests or guess strips. Both are notoriously unreliable.
Get either the TF100 or Taylor k2006c. See link in my signature.
See also ABCs of pool water chemistry.
Add your pool information to your signature, similar to mine. Settings/signature. Helps the experts help you.
We just used the light tarp that came with over concrete.
Maybe fill cracks with good caulking or concrete filler.
We ended up with a solar cover, easier to keep on pool. Others need tie downs and rip cover in wind. Solar just sets on top.

Much appreciated, thank you. Will dig deep into the information you recommended.
