Pool was opened last week. It was hard to tell if the popups were working right and it seemed like the debris in the bottom wasn't really going into the drain at the bottom of the pool. This morning we used the vacuum hose in the suction hole below the filter basket to vacuum the pool. When we were done the was no pressure at the filter tank and the popups weren't working at all.

Wondering if we got air in the line or something else?

Sorry if that reads as gibberish, extremely out of it this morning.

Thanks for any help

Did you clean out the pump basket after vacuuming?

You should be using a vacuum plate in the skimmer.

I did clean out the pump basket.

I have never used a vacuum plate before. Didn't even know there was such a thing.

It prevents debris from getting stuck in the suction pipe or the pump impeller.

So there could be two areas were the debris got stuck. Either in the pump impeller or the suction pipe. Does the pump basket have a lot of air in it? If so, it is likely the suction pipe. If not, then it is probably the pump impeller. To flush the suction line, put a hose in the pipe that enters the pump basket and seal it with a wet rag. Turn on the hose and try to prevent water from coming out of the rag.
