Hello TFP'ers,

Historically, I've always had to add small doses of muriatic acid over the summer months, which I understand is pretty normal with a SWCG. However, this year, two months in, I haven't had to add a single drop, pH has basically stayed 7.4 for two months. Double checked that I put my new reagents in the TFT kit. They are good, new this season. Am I just lucky this year? TA is 50 this year, usually i've been higher (70-90) , could that be it? Current readings:

pH - 7.4
FC - 7
CC - 0
CH - 250
TA - 50
CYA - 60

Thanks!

You have reached the balance point of TA and pH, with your fill water and also rain.

FYI -- SWCG's do not raise the pH of the pool water.

Many people state that. People that change from trichlor to SWCG think their pH rise is due to the SWCG, It is due to not using trichlor.
