I live in a somewhat rural area, and many stores are not available. It doesn't look like Walmart is docking pool bleach. If I can't find liquid bleach what would be a good alternative? Back to using pucks and shock kits?

Liquid Chlorine

Here’s an article that may help you out some. Give stores like Rural King or pressure washing stores a call as often they’ll stock chlorine. If you absolutely positively 100% cannot find liquid chlorine then I’d look to CalHypo. While it will add calcium to the water, it’ll likely be less risky than using Trichlor.

Thank you. I'll check out that link. We're having a hard time just finding regular bleach at a grocery store. I certainly can't take any of that just to maintain a pool. I'm opening my pool for neighbors to use while I go back out of town for work. They will be maintaining it so I need to keep it as simple as possible.

I ordered 10% bleach from True Value and had it shipped to store. I picked up my 12 gallons yesterday. Had a good Julian date of "076" on it. I think it was 3.99 a gallon.

This was a great option. Thanks. I thought I had found a walmart with stock, but they canceled my pick up order. 12 will certainly get me started. Pool is already green so gonna take a few to SLAM.

I was able to find 8 gallons of 10% "chlorinating liquid" at my local Sutherland's Hardware store, and got another 15 galls of 10% "pool chlorine" at Walmart.
