Hi,
I’m a first time pool owner. I ordered my TS-100 test kit arriving tomorrow. Tested with instant strips in meantime. We added chlorine, Stabilizer, bags of salt, waited the 24 hours. Now turned on the SWG. Which chemical levels should we be targeting? We have a 13,500 gallon above ground pool. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to TFP!

I assume you meant the TF-100, not TS-100?

Best to just wait until tomorrow. I wouldn't take any action based on strips. The TF-100 will show you the way. :goodjob: '

We'll be watching for those new numbers. :)

Numbers: salt 3500, CYA 60, PH 7.2, FC 5, CH 400. It’s a 13,500 gallon pool. My friend is saying to add more salt to get it to 4200. We have a SWG, it’s set on 75%.

Those numbers look mostly good. Few things:

* What is your TA?
* You probably want to get your CYA up, 60 is on the low side for a SWCG.

What does the manual say? My Circupool SWCG says 3500ppm is what I should set it to. Most SWCG are 3k-4kppm.

TA 130, so how much baking soda should we add? I’m new so trying to navigate around these forums. I have the socks soaking with the stabilizer ,I’ll test again later. Regrading the SWG, does it turn itself off automatically? We come out in early am and the amber light in on, thanks!

Thank you. We’re still trying to figure out the Circapool SJ series. I guess when the LED light is off, the system cycles and rest and turns itself off during the night. If salt is at 3500 for a 13,500 gallon pool, that is right in line.

You should update your signature to say you have the Circupool SJ (and which one it is). I didn't know j-series meant Circupool SJ series.

My Circupool RJ does something similar. It randomly will stop generating during run time, however the manual does say that's normal and I've verified it generates the correct amount of FC when I set it to whatever %.

The Circupool SJ manual can be found here. Manual says 3500ppm of salt is ideal, 3-4k is fine. So you said your salt is at 3500ppm, you should be good; good thing you didn't listen to your friend :)

when you have the SJ set at anything other than 100% it will split the time on and off.. you will see the flow light on green and everything else off.. When it turns on it will start to flash the generate green then go solid and then the cell and salt light will go green about 30 to 45 seconds later... :)
