Hi,

I have read the directions, but some guidance. I have done the Calcium Hardness test and also Total Alkalinity test, but need help on when do I stop counting the number of drops.

On the CH is it when the entire 10ml solution changes from Red to Blue or when the solution makes its first color change from Red to Blue? (I see the bottom turning blue and the top staying red at 7 drops, but it takes me 46 drops for the entire solutions to turn blue)

On the TA test, am i recording the number of drops until I see the green solution have a small amount red from the R-0009 solution or when the entire solutions turn Red?

Thanks,
KTR

Hey KTR !!! For any of the tests, you want the full color change. Depending on the speed of the mixing, you may see the momentary change of the top of the vial, before it's mixed. For whatever reason I only ever saw it with FC. Kiiiiiiiinda..... nope. Kinda.....nope. Kiiiiiiinda.... nope. *POOF* ahhhhhh. OK.

You want a nice uniform color change from Red to Blue throughout the entire test solution for CH. If you are not using a magnetic stirring device, make sure you manually swirl the solution with each test drop introduced to the vial. If you introduce the drops without swirling, the solution color change will not be uniform and you will blow past the endpoint. Your test reading with 10ML solution will be number R-0012 reagent drops x 25.

Welcome to the group!
