New to pool ownership need help on where to start with chemicals

During my slamming process am I ok to clean the cartridge filter to speed to clearing of the water. Will that help with clearing up the water? Should I continously being running my pump on low or high. I started on high and have turned it down to low after vacuuming this morning. Thanks

Clean the filter when your filter pressure rises by 25% over clean pressure.

Run pump on low. 24 hours per day if at all possible.

Will cleaning the cartridge just be a waste of time if it hasn't risen by 25%. Here are the latest pictures of pool, I think it's still cloudy do you agree?

It is a bit cloudy. Not bad.
The filter will actually filter better dirty, until such time as the flow rate through it is restricted.

Once the pressure rises by 25%, clean the filter.

Sure. Your FC is elevated well above target so UV loss will be greater. Raise it back to SLAM level.

If that is as often as it can be done, it will work. Just makes the process take longer. No one home to add some chlorine mid-day? Test and add in the morning, late afternoon, just before bed.

I only lost 0.5 on my oclt and my cc is 0. Is it normal for the water clearing to be the last thing to happen during a slam. I plan to continue with the slam until clear. Thanks
It is. Your FC loss should be close to normal now. The pool should clear soon.

One more question regarding vacation. I'm leaving next weekend for 4 days. What do i do about my cl levels. Do I get a floater for while I'm gone if no one can add liquid chlorine?? What do i put into the floater ??

If no one can add chorine, then you should float one puck. That is all that will dissolve in 4 days.
Raise your FC to SLAM level right before you leave and put a puck in a floater. Have your pump run a few hours each day.
