New sand filter & pump + chem question

After some dirt work and water spraying all over me (because I forgot to glue my pvc), I finally got my sand filter installed and really like the pump/filter so far. A lot more power than the 1500 gph cartridge filter/pump I was using.

Anyway, I could have sworn I read here last year that with sand filters, when you add your chems each day, you should set your pump on "circulate" instead of "filter". I could not find this anywhere after searching today. Any truth to this statement?

Nope.

You don't want to put your chemicals right in front of the skimmer and have them go through the filter and plumbing at a high concentration, but no... don't bother with putting you pump on circulate.
