I recently replaced the grey plastic basket in my pool pump (Hayward) with a white plastic no-name basket that floats. I used to just drop the basket in after cleaning and it sank to the bottom and seated so I knew it lined up with the infloe and could easily screw the pump top back on. When I push the new one down it will practically fly back out of the pump and then lay sideways against the rim. When I screw the top back on, the basket is pushing up on the lid instead of staying down so I'm not sure if it is lining up the right way. I put a small rock in the bottom of it to hold it down but am now wondering if this was a good idea. I noticed the pressure went up and the polaris is floating. Any ideas?
