New Pump, 1 yr old filter, losing pressure after running pump for 1 hr

I had the same issue with my old pump.
18 ft above grnd
old pump hayward 1 hp new pump 1.5 hayward hp

After I do a 10 second backwash the pressure is ok for the next hour

You do not have a pump issue, or even a mechanical issue... You simply have a chemical issue.

You have algae whether you can see it or not.. It quickly fills up your filter until you backwash it..

I suggest that you perform a SLAM on your pool... SLAM Process

You may be the first, but so far I have yet to find anyone that has a problem where the filter clogs in a short period of time and then works again after a quick backwash where the problem was not algae...

Or maybe I just did not read your post correctly.. :scratch:
