SWC salt level 3800, trying to bring it down without draining it. Can I add chlorine tabs in hopes of bringing the salt level down

Only way to reduce the salinity of your pool water is to remove some of it and replace it with fresh water. Tablets actually add salt.

'Shock' is a product, not a process. And adding liquid chlorine will not reduce salt.

Nothing you add chemical wise can lower salt. The only way to lower your salt level is by water replacement.

No m'am. "Shocking" the pool will do nothing to the level of salinity. The only way to lower it is to drain and replace some of the water.
Well I was told that was too high but it it not holding the chlorine I bought some CYA today, should

We can't say without knowing a full set of test results, but NOT from a pool store. Only from your own reliable kit that contains the FAS-DPD test for chlorine .
